Wiki | Fighting Project System
  • Introduction

If you are interested in combat at Second Life, you have to know that it generally refers to events within inworld games where Residents fight other Residents based on rules imposed by a "combat system", something equivalent to "player versus player" action in various online games.

Many of these combat systems are used to supplement devoted-to-roleplay communities in various ways, from medieval to futuristic. These communities use the combat as a way to interact with other communities and developing their characters.

What is the Fighting Project System ?(top)

At Second Life Grid, FPS means "Fighting Project System" and it is a group of sims (regions) where you can roleplay inside a combat metered community that grows everyday because of the quests and different ways of developing the character.

FPS is a user-created Combat System for Second Life Grid, designed and scripted by Heyter Nitely, a combat systems player and role-player also who saw the need of a new, fresh, combat system with role-playing included experiencies.

At the moment, FPS has got 3 sims (regions) totally dedicated to this new combat system, with some clans (factions) living and role-playing inside of them.

This combat system is integrated into a "HUD" that you attach to your avatar to see your status and execute certain actions, and also a "Meter" that is a titler, visible to others, which shows your class, health and other specifications that we will explain on the next pages.

    Getting your meter & HUD(top)

Thanks for choosing roleplay with us! We are very happy to add you as a member of our community.
The first step is to go to the FPS Headquarters and get your own FPS HUD and Meter.

Click on the black vendor with white letters showed in this image:

The vendor will give you a boxed item that you will have to rezz on ground or wear it and it will automatically send you the FPS folder that contains the meter and the HUD.

Inside the folder you can see

    • 2. System HUD.
    • 3. System Meter ( Named FPSystem only )
    • 4. Help notecards and textures

    • 6. Shortcut keys gestures. (Remember to activate so you can be able to use FPS quickly and more effectively)
This folder will contains the meter, the HUD, the vendor to be able to share with your friends. All gestures need to be activated because they are specifically created to allow you to use the FPS quickly (target someone, launch a specific skill, etc.).

    Race & Classes(top)

    Choosing a race:
    • As we stated before, you need to choose your class name while you are in the middle of register process. Some classes names are banned because we would like to keep classes as something related to role-play only, but you have the choice on your hands. We strongly recommend that you choose a class according to the sim theme wherever you will be role-playing.
    Choosing a class:
    • The Berserker
      • The Berserker is a DPS, (DPS stands for "damage per second" and is a common measurement of how much damage a given character is able to do) and the primary purpose of this class is to inflict pain on their enemies, they are the ones that face the enemies and, with help of other classes, kill them.
    • The Doctor
      • The Doctor is a Healer, that means this class is not made to confront a DPS (Berserker) and win but he/she will survive this encounter by using the appropriate skills.
      • Healers are made to help others in battle by curing them and supporting them. They have skills that can give any of the other classes, a better performance.
    • The Defender
      • The Defender is a Tank. Tanks can take a lot of damage, they are especially important in large group instances. A Tank's job is to stand before the group, using their abilities and high armor values to force a particular enemy to continue attacking the Tank, while other characters contribute to over all damage while not taking damage themselves.
    • The Wizard
      • The Wizard is a Caster, that means, it is a character that stays on the back row to heal or cast spells on the enemy, such as a Mage. As you can imagine, the caster is created to support others in the middle of battle camp with area and /or individual skills, however that does not mean he/she can't defend themselves.
    Skills(top)

    What is a skill ?
      • Skills are various abilities the character is capable of using, such as wielding specific types of weapons, wearing specific types of armor, casting specific types of spells, or even creating specific types of items. They change with the class of the character and they are designed to make the rpg more intensive.
There are 3 types of skills:
      • + OFFENSIVE SKILLS. These are designed to inflict pain and damage to the enemies. Can be area or individual skills.
      • + HEALING SKILLS. These are designed to cure injuries, give more energy and/or helping others in the battle
      • + SUPPORT SKILLS. These are designed to improve specific abilities to the target like increasing energy or damage level.

At FPS, we have other kind of skills, called STARTER SKILLS. You can choose one of this skills in the middle of registration process and will help you while you are growing. Yes, you can change the starter skill anytime, but you can't change it many times in a row.

    Starter Skills:
      • QUART. This is an offensive skill. Deals damage over the time to your target with a cost of Energy on your character.
      • REVITALIZE. This is a healing skill. You revive yourself by using it, but it takes much Ammo from you and with a long cool-down.
      • INSTINCT. This is a support skill. It prevents melee to damage you for some seconds with a cost of Ammo.
Skills per class in the system
